Season of Gratitude

November 3, 2016

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven."  - Ecclesiastes 3:1

As Nikki and I continue to build our business, we make countless sacrifices in our professional and personal lives. We knew exactly what we were getting into when we decided to birth Creative DNA, remember, this is our second appearance at the rodeo. But with the second time around we definitely have adopted the "all-or-nothing" attitude.

Now let me interject that I am absolutely not complaining. This experience has been a blessing from the heavens. We have made some wonderful friends and exceptional mentors in this industry. We have never measured our level of success by the balance in our business account, but by how many people we have helped along the way. The kudos we've received and client referrals are priceless to Creative DNA's brand reputation. And I could never express enough how much we appreciate it all.

As September ended we saw the many blank spaces on our production calendar and decided to take advantage. So off I went to New England for a 14 day road trip adventure with nothing more than a carry-on, an atlas, and a reservation for the first night's stay. Nikki took off to Los Angeles for a glitzy "Girls Epicurean Getaway".

We couldn't help but laugh when we returned to the office to swap photos of our trips. The photos consisted of nothing more than business signage, color palettes, menu layouts, business cards and cocktail napkins . . . all elements that inspire who we are and what we do.

It's taken us time to get to this point. The point where we understand that we don't have to be working ourselves silly all year 'round. Because in our business, whether it's high or low season, it's always the season to be grateful.
